How to Create Website Content (Stage
3)
Content is King! If you have done any research on how to
write or create website content you will have heard that phrase many times and this will be the biggest
obstacle you will have in developing your website.
While surfing the internet looking for information, more
than 75% of the people scan the text to see if it is what they are looking for.
No... you won't become a brilliant writer overnight. But
anyone (with average IQ and some motivation) can indeed write effectively. It starts by dropping the baggage
of what you've "mislearned" (or never learned). Read this book -- MYCPS! is crucial for your online
success.
Unless your site is a technical manual, use the K.I.S.S.
method.
Keep It Simple Sentences.
When writing for your web
site
- Check spelling and
grammar
- Paragraphs (limit to one
idea)
- Sentence Length (approx 10
words)
- Use bullets or
list
- Bold or highlight important points (use wisely)
- Approx 400 - 600 total
words
- Use consistent font
type
Adding new content
You need to add fresh, new content regularly. This may be
daily, weekly or monthly. You choose the time frame and stick with it. By adding new content, the visitors
you had on your site a few months ago, may once again arrive at your website because of the new
content.
Write for your audience, not search
engines, this may sound ridiculous but many people try to
stuff as many keywords into their website contents. It ends sounding very stiff and impersonal. Yes, use the
keywords that you have found for that particular topic, but don't over do it. If you have found 30 keywords
that you want to use, try breaking it down to 5 or six different articles.
Make content unique
This is the most critical component to your
website.
If you have lack of time, full knowledge, or unable to
write your own do not use copyrighted material unless you have received permission. If your skills as a
writer are lacking, use a website copywriter, PLRor free articles.
Website copywriter
If you need to create content for your websites fast, pay
someone to write your articles/content. You can have an article written anywhere from $5 up to $50. There are
hundreds of these ghost-writers out there. Once a price is negotiated for the article, to obtain SEO on your
article you send them keywords for use in the article. They incorporate those keywords into their
writing.
PLR Articles
Private Label Rights are for sale all over the internet and
they are helping websites create content fast. Before you buy, check to see how many other people have
purchased the same article. I have found websites charge from .20 each(buying many at a time)to $5.00 for an
article that will only be sold to one person.
If you decide to use the
same PLR article on your website and submit to an article directory to generate targeted traffic and backlinks, rewrite about 60% before submitting to the article
directory so you won't be nailed for duplicate content.
Free Articles
With so many free articles available in article directories
to use as web site content, do not use to many on your site as other sites may be using the same article but
if you need to create your contents in your website fast, use a few with your own unique content to help with
SEO and avoid duplicate content
Treat each page with the detail that you did for your home
page content. As your pages are indexed with the search engine, your home page will not be the only landing
page.
